Photo Philanthropy: Documentary Website & Resource

Photo Philanthropy is a site I just became aware of through the Society for Photographic Education website.  This site showcases the social documentary photographic work of Professionals, Amateurs, and Student photographers who partner with non-profit organizations and NGOs to tell their stories in photographs.  It is a great resource for both NGOs and photographers in getting the stories out there.

They put up my “Learning to Hope: Children, HIV, and Education in Botswana & Lesotho” for the African Library Project:

Soon they will have lists of NGOs that would like to have volunteer photographers photograph for them under this “Volunteers Opportunities” page.

A “Grant Opportunities” page and a “Workshop” page are two other great resource that they offer for photographers.
